What kind of work is this?

The Senior SaaS Platform Engineer is a key contributor to designing, implementing, and optimizing SaaS platform solutions, combining expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native architectures. As a Senior SaaS Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in contributing to the technical implementation for our first-of-a-kind “Healthcare from the Eye” initiative working closely with CloudOps, and software engineering teams to ensure the seamless integration of cloud infrastructure and application deployment processes. Additionally, you will contribute to cloud and application architecture decisions, helping to define scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-native solutions.

We offer flexibility in job location, with offices in Helsinki and Oulu, as well as options for hybrid or remote work. However, this role requires visits to our Oulu office at least every other month. Please note that we do not provide relocation services for this position.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to automate cloud infrastructure provisioning
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable application deployment
• Contribute to cloud-native application architecture, working with Kubernetes, containers, and cloud services to enhance scalability and reliability
• Work closely with CloudOps to align infrastructure provisioning with application and platform needs
• Lead the adoption of best practices for platform security, monitoring, and reliability
• Stay up to date with emerging cloud and DevOps technologies, continuously improving platform capabilities

What do you expect from me?

We're looking for an experienced professional with both deep technical expertise and a strategic mindset. Below are the key qualifications and experiences that will help you succeed in this role:

• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi) and automation tools
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automation (e.g., GitHub Actions, FluxCD, Azure DevOps)
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes, containerization (Docker), and cloud-native application architectures
• Hands-on experience with the Azure cloud platform and cloud-native services
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles, networking, and best practices for platform reliability
• Proven ability to collaborate with development, CloudOps, and Architecture teams to create scalable and efficient solutions
• Experience in monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of cloud-native applications
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a proactive approach to improving platform engineering practices
• Fluent written and spoken English skills
• Experience in regulated industries like healthcare is a plus
