What kind of work is this?

We are looking for a strategic and experienced Head of Cloud to build and lead our CloudOps team. You will define and implement cloud strategies that align with business goals, ensuring the secure and efficient operation of our cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on optimizing costs, maintaining security, and ensuring the architecture supports current and future business needs.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, to deliver scalable and reliable cloud solutions for our medical software products. Together with your team, you will stay updated on cloud technologies and practices to continually enhance cloud operations.

This is a new role and team at Topcon, starting with two existing roles and expanding to a five-person team. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing processes, ensuring compliance during internal and external audits. As a supervisor, you'll oversee the team’s efficiency, work quality, and well-being while supporting their growth and engagement. The preferred location is Helsinki or Oulu, with a hybrid model allowing some remote work as needed. Unfortunately, we do not offer relocation services or fully remote options for this position

Your main responsibilities are to:

• Lead, mentor, and manage the CloudOps team
  
• Develop and implement cloud strategies aligned with business goals and technical roadmap
  
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and security for all workloads
  
• Oversee cost management
  
• Drive cloud security initiatives
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders based in Finland, California and New Jersey

• Familiarity with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models, as well as containerization and microservices
  
• Good grasp of cloud security principles, DevOps practices, and automation tools
• Understanding of software development processes, support, and escalation procedures
• Ability to follow KPIs and present effectively to various stakeholders
